The amount of time customers spend on hold has been published by consumer watchdog, Which?. In its findings, it has exposed the companies guilty of keeping customers on hold and has reported a waiting period of up to 30 minutes for some suppliers.
Which? has expressed that long waits on the phone are unacceptable and have encouraged customers to shop around for another supplier if they find that they are unhappy with the service they are receiving from their energy supplier. In response to this survey, some of the shamed suppliers have since taken steps to rectify the situation and improve service for their customers, which is encouraging – making this type of survey a valuable tool in maintaining high standards amongst suppliers.
